Most states including Michigan, Minnesota and Indiana are open market states, meaning you can purchase your coverage through any insurance company authorized to offer the coverage.
Ohio requires business to purchase coverage from the state but gives employers the right to join a group rating program. The state association has an arrangement with the Frank Gates Company now called Avizent. In Ohio you should purchase Employers Liability separate from the statuatory coverage.
We recommend any cleaner in Michigan to be members of the Michigan Institute of Laundering and Drycleaning and the Michigan Cleaning Fund.
